Rod Martin Autographs
Rod Martin is a retired American football linebacker who spent the entirety of his career playing for the Oakland Raiders. He was born in 1954 in Texas and played his college ball at the University of Southern California. Martin was drafted by the Raiders in the 12th round of the 1977 NFL Draft, and he would go on to become one of the most iconic players in the franchise's storied history.
Martin saw limited action as a rookie in 1977, but he quickly established himself as a key contributor on defense in the years that followed. Known for his hard-hitting style and his ability to make big plays, Martin quickly became a fan favorite in Oakland. He was a key figure in the Raiders' legendary Super Bowl XV victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in 1981, when he recorded three interceptions, tying a record that still stands to this day. Martin was also a two-time Pro Bowler, and he was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year in 1983.
After his retirement from football in 1988, Martin remained involved in the game in various coaching roles. In 1993, he was inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame, and he remains a beloved figure among Raiders fans to this day. Martin's contributions to the game of football will never be forgotten, and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in Oakland Raiders history.
