Roy Hilton was a former American football defensive lineman who played for the Baltimore Colts from 1965 to 1972. He was born on October 20, 1943, in Olanta, South Carolina. In 1965, the Baltimore Colts drafted Roy Hilton in the sixth round (76th overall) of the NFL Draft. He quickly became one of the team's best defensive players, earning the title of NFL Rookie of the Year in 1965. Over the next seven seasons with the Colts, Hilton was a regular starter and played in 105 games. He played a key role in the team's Super Bowl III win in 1971, where he sacked quarterback Joe Namath twice.

After leaving the Colts in 1972, Roy Hilton had a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons before retiring from professional football in 1974. Throughout his career, Hilton was known for his quickness and tenacity on the field. He finished his NFL career with 59.5 sacks and seven interceptions. In 2006, he was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport.
