Ryan Succop was born on September 19, 1986, in Hickory, North Carolina, and grew up playing soccer, basketball, and football. He excelled in all three sports but ultimately decided to pursue football at the collegiate level. Succop attended the University of South Carolina and became the starting kicker for the Gamecocks for four seasons from 2005 to 2008. After college, Succop was drafted in the seventh round (No. 256 overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2009 NFL Draft. He quickly proved himself as an impact kicker, making 25 of 29 field goals during his rookie season and being named to the All-Rookie team by Pro Football Weekly. Succop spent five seasons with the Chiefs, becoming their all-time leading scorer with 466 points. In 2014, he signed with the Tennessee Titans, where he has continued to be a reliable kicker, making over 83% of his field goal attempts. He also made a game-winning 53-yard field goal in overtime against the Cleveland Browns in 2019, proving his clutch ability in high-pressure situations.

Overall, Ryan Succop has had a successful career as an NFL kicker, making over 84% of his field goal attempts and being named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month in November 2020. He has also been involved in various charitable endeavors throughout his career, including founding the "Succop Family Foundation" with his wife, Paige, to provide education, support, and resources for children in need.
