Shane Vereen Autographs
Shane Vereen is a retired American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. Born on March 2, 1989, in Valencia, California, Vereen attended Valencia High School, where he played as a running back and a defensive back for the school's football team. He was an all-state selection and was rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. After graduating from high school, Vereen attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played for the California Golden Bears football team.
In the 2011 NFL Draft, Vereen was drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round. He spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Patriots and emerged as a valuable running back and receiver for the team. In Super Bowl XLIX, he scored two touchdowns and had 11 receptions for 64 yards, helping the Patriots win the championship. In 2015, he signed with the New York Giants, where he spent two seasons. He then spent one season with the New Orleans Saints and later signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers in 2018 but was released before the start of the season due to injury concerns.
During his six seasons in the NFL, Vereen played in 84 games and rushed for 1,985 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 221 passes for 1,865 yards and 11 touchdowns. After retiring from football in 2019, Vereen became a television analyst and a college football commentator for Pac-12 Networks. He also started his own podcast and has been an advocate for players' mental health, speaking openly about his own struggles with depression and anxiety.
