Sione Pouha Autographs
Sione Pouha is a retired Tongan-American football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. Pouha was born on February 3, 1979, in Ha'apai, Tonga, and moved to the United States at a young age. He attended East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he earned All-State honors in football as a senior in 1996.
After high school, Pouha attended the University of Utah, where he played for the Utah Utes football team from 1998 to 2003. He was a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection and was named the team's lineman of the year in 2002. In the 2005 NFL Draft, Pouha was selected by the New York Jets in the third round, 88th overall. He played for the Jets from 2005 to 2012 and ended his career with the Jets in 2013.
During his NFL career, Pouha was known for his toughness, consistency, and leadership on the field. He played in 112 games for the Jets, recording 4.5 sacks, 221 tackles, and one fumble recovery. He was also a team captain and a respected veteran in the locker room. After retiring from football, Pouha returned to Utah where he worked as a high school football coach and served as an ambassador for the Polynesian culture.
