Sonny Randle Autographs
Sonny Randle was a prominent American Football player who made his mark on the field particularly as a wide receiver for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1960 to 1966. He was born on January 6th, 1936, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and attended LSU where he also played college football. In college, he was a standout player and led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, demonstrating his natural talent.
After completing college, Randle was selected in the 19th round of the 1959 NFL draft by the Chicago Cardinals. In his rookie season, he played sparingly and only caught 4 passes, but in the following year, he emerged as a critical member of the team. From 1960 to 1964, Randle would earn Pro Bowl honors for five straight seasons, earning All-Pro honors in three of them. In 1963, he posted his best season, catching 65 passes for 1,286 yards and 8 touchdowns.
During his tenure with the Cardinals, Randle's work ethic and dedication to the sport made him a fan favorite, and his receptions and performances were often the difference between winning or losing crucial games. He retired after spending one more season with the San Francisco 49ers, ending his career with 438 receptions for 8,429 yards and 65 touchdowns. Randle was inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2013, and his records still stand as some of the best in American Football history.
