He was born on February 17, 1995, in Plantation, Florida, and attended American Heritage School in nearby Pembroke Pines. Michel was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round (31st overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played for the Patriots for three seasons, rushing for over 900 yards in both 2018 and 2019. In the 2018 NFL Playoffs, Michel rushed for 336 yards and six touchdowns, helping the Patriots win Super Bowl LIII. Michel was released by the Patriots in 2021 and signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
