Bailey was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the Rams for three seasons before his career was cut short by a gunshot wound to the head in November 2015. Despite his injury, Bailey remained committed to football and made attempts to make a comeback to the NFL. He had brief stints with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League and the Alliance of American Football's San Antonio Commanders before announcing his retirement from football in September 2019.
