Steve McMichael Autographs
Steve McMichael, born on October 17, 1957, is a former American football defensive tackle who played for the Chicago Bears from 1981 to 1993. Before entering the NFL, McMichael was a standout football player for the Texas Longhorns where he was a two-time All-American in 1978 and 1979. He was drafted in the third round of the 1980 NFL draft by the New England Patriots but was soon traded to the Bears, where he would spend the majority of his career.
McMichael's time with the Bears was marked by his ferocious play on the defensive line. He was a key player in the legendary 1985 Bears team that won Super Bowl XX, recording 6.5 sacks and leading the team in tackles that season. He was also named to two Pro Bowls during his tenure with the Bears and was known for his toughness and intensity on the field.
After leaving the NFL in 1994, McMichael pursued a career in professional wrestling and was a member of the infamous "Four Horsemen" faction in the WCW. He was also involved in politics, serving as mayor of the small town of Romeoville, Illinois for one term from 1999 to 2001. Despite his success in these ventures, McMichael will always be remembered as a fearsome presence on the football field, one of the greatest defensive players in Bears history.
