Steve McNair was a legendary American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He was born on February 14, 1973, in Mount Olive, Mississippi, and went on to become an all-state quarterback at Mount Olive High School. In 1995, McNair was drafted by the Houston Oilers with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft, and he went on to become one of the most skillful and prolific quarterbacks of his time. McNair spent most of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, for whom he played from 1997 to 2005. During his time with the Titans, McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and shared the NFL MVP award with Peyton Manning in 2003. He also led the Titans to their first and only Super Bowl appearance in franchise history in 1999, where they narrowly lost to the St. Louis Rams. Overall, McNair recorded 174 touchdowns and 31,304 passing yards in his NFL career, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation.

Throughout his career, McNair was known for his toughness, leadership, and versatility. He was an excellent passer, but he was also capable of running with the ball and making plays on the ground. McNair's determination and resilience were especially evident in 2003, when he played through a variety of injuries to lead the Titans to a 12-4 record and a berth in the playoffs.
