Ted Kwalick Autographs
Ted Kwalick was born on April 15, 1947, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He is a former American football player, who had a successful career as a tight end from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. Kwalick started his football career at Beaver falls high school, where he excelled as a student-athlete, earning all-state honors in both football and basketball. He went on to play college football at Penn State University, where he was a two-time All-American and set several school records.
In 1969, Kwalick was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the NFL draft. He quickly established himself as one of the top tight ends in the league, earning All-Pro honors in 1970 and 1971. Kwalick was known for his size, speed, and catching ability, making him a favorite target of quarterbacks like John Brodie and Steve Spurrier. He was also a strong blocker, helping the 49ers to three straight NFC West division titles from 1970-1972.
Unfortunately, injuries began to plague Kwalick's career, and he was eventually traded to the Oakland Raiders in 1974. He played two seasons with the Raiders before being forced to retire due to a chronic knee injury. Despite his abbreviated career, Kwalick remains one of the most respected tight ends in NFL history, earning induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989. Today, he enjoys retired life and is considered an icon in the world of American football.
