Terance Mathis Autographs
Terance Mathis is a former American Football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mathis attended college at the University of New Mexico where he played football as a wide receiver. He was selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft, and he played for the team through the 1993 season before being traded to the Atlanta Falcons.
Mathis played for the Atlanta Falcons from 1994 to 2001, and he had some of the best seasons of his NFL career with the team. In 1994, he had a career-high 111 receptions for 1,342 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time that season and was named a Second-Team All-Pro. Mathis continued to be a key contributor for the Falcons, and he played a pivotal role in their success during the late 1990s. In 1998, he had 1,039 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, helping the Falcons reach Super Bowl XXXIII. Mathis finished his career with the Falcons with 573 receptions for 7,349 yards and 57 touchdowns, and he is still considered one of the best wide receivers in team history.
After leaving the Falcons, Mathis played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets before retiring after the 2002 season. Over the course of his career, he had 689 receptions for 8,809 yards and 63 touchdowns. He also had 1,496 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. Mathis was a versatile player who could make an impact in many different ways, and he left a lasting impact on the NFL. Today, he is considered one of the best wide receivers of the 1990s and one of the most successful players in Atlanta Falcons history.
