Tex Schramm was born on June 2, 1920, in San Gabriel, Texas. His passion for American Football began when he attended high school in Austin, where he played on a championship team as a defensive end. He continued to play at the University of Texas, where he was a two-time All-Southwest Conference player. Schramm is best known as one of the most influential figures in the history of American Football. In 1950, he was hired as the first general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, which would become one of the most successful and iconic franchises in the National Football League (NFL). During his tenure, Schramm revolutionized the way the game was played and watched, introducing innovative strategies such as instant replay and the use of a two-point conversion. He also spearheaded efforts to expand the league, which eventually led to the creation of two additional divisions and the Super Bowl.

Recognized as a visionary and innovator, Schramm was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991. His leadership and contributions to American Football have left a lasting legacy that continues to shape the game today. In addition to his work with the Dallas Cowboys, Schramm also served as the president of the NFL for five years and was involved in the creation of the Arena Football League.
