Tim Rattay Autographs
Born on March 15, 1977, Timothy Duane Rattay is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2000 to 2007. He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played college football and set numerous school records. Rattay led the nation in passing yards in 1998, and in 1999, he set an NCAA record with 46 completions in a single game.
In the 2000 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Rattay in the seventh round. He served as a backup quarterback for his first two seasons but became the team's starting quarterback in 2003 after injuries to Jeff Garcia. Rattay played well that season, finishing with 2,169 passing yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games. However, injuries hampered his career, and he spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals before retiring in 2008. In total, Rattay played in 39 NFL games, completing 271 of 440 passes for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Since his retirement from football, Rattay has worked as a coach, including stints with Louisiana Tech and his alma mater, Phoenix Christian High School. He is currently an offensive coordinator at San Jose State University, where he has helped turn around the team's offense and led the Spartans to their best season in years. Rattay's career may have been cut short by injuries, but his contributions to football have been felt both on and off the field.
