Tom Rathman Autographs
Tom Rathman is a retired American football player who spent nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) as a fullback. Rathman was born on October 7, 1962 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He attended Grand Island Senior High School where he excelled in football as well as track and field. He went on to play college football for the University of Nebraska, where he was a two-time All-American selection.
In 1986, Rathman was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the NFL Draft. He quickly became known as one of the best fullbacks in the league, known for his exceptional blocking and pass-catching abilities. Rathman was a key member of the 49ers' dynasty in the late 1980s and early 1990s, playing in three Super Bowls and winning two of them. He was also named to the Pro Bowl for three consecutive seasons from 1989 to 1991.
After his time with the 49ers, Rathman played one season for the Los Angeles Raiders before retiring in 1994. He later returned to the NFL as an assistant coach, working for several teams including the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Indianapolis Colts. Rathman remains a beloved figure in the football world, known for his toughness on the field and his dedication to teaching the game to future generations of players.
