After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, Scott joined the NFL in 1953, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as a wide receiver. He played for the Eagles for six years, from 1953 to 1958, and was one of the most reliable and consistent players on the team. In his NFL career, Scott caught 231 passes for 4,865 yards and 38 touchdowns.
