Tom Thayer Autographs
Tom Thayer is a former American football player and current radio broadcaster. Born in 1961 in Joliet, Illinois, Thayer attended Joliet Catholic High School where he played football for the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers. After high school, Thayer played college football for Notre Dame where he was a member of the 1978 national championship team.
In 1985, Thayer was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He played as an offensive guard for the Bears from 1985 to 1992, and during his tenure, he was a part of the 1985 team that won Super Bowl XX. His contributions were crucial to the team's success as he was responsible for opening up running lanes for running back Walter Payton and blocking for quarterback Jim McMahon. Following his time with the Bears, Thayer played for the Miami Dolphins before retiring from football in 1993.
Post-football, Thayer has had a successful career in sports radio broadcasting. He is a regular contributor to WBBM Newsradio 780's pre-game and post-game coverage for Chicago Bears games. Thayer's knowledge and insight into the game of football have made him a trusted source of information for football fans in the Chicago area and beyond.
