Tommy Kramer Autographs
Tommy Kramer was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 7, 1955. He had a successful high school football career at Robert E. Lee High School, which earned him a scholarship to play at Rice University. Kramer played quarterback and had a standout college career, setting records and leading the team to a Southwest Conference championship in 1974.
In 1977, Kramer was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings, where he would spend his entire 13-year NFL career. Kramer quickly became known for his strong arm and ability to make big plays, leading the Vikings to two division championships and one NFC championship game. In 1986, he became the first Minnesota Vikings quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season, earning him Pro Bowl honors.
Despite his accomplishments on the field, Kramer also struggled with injuries throughout his career. In 1990, he announced his retirement after suffering multiple concussions. He finished his career with 92 touchdowns and over 25,000 passing yards. Kramer was inducted into the Rice University Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. Today, he remains a beloved figure in Minnesota Vikings history, remembered for his competitiveness and leadership on the field.
