Tony Fisher is a former American football running back who hails from Euclid, Ohio. He attended Euclid High School where he excelled in both football and track and field. He also played college football at the University of Notre Dame where he set the record for most receptions by a running back in a season with 56 catches for 490 yards. Fisher's versatility as a running back and receiver made him an exceptional player on the field.
Fisher's professional football career began when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2002. He spent four seasons with the team and became a reliable performer for the Packers, particularly on special teams. In his career, he amassed 1210 rushing yards and 801 receiving yards with seven touchdowns. Fisher was later signed by the St. Louis Rams for a brief period but was released before the start of the 2007 season. He then signed with the Chicago Bears but was once again released before the start of the regular season. Fisher's career in the NFL may have been short-lived but his contributions to the game were noteworthy.
Since retiring from football, Fisher has remained active in the sport and in his community. He founded the Tony Fisher Football Academy, a non-profit organization that provides football training and education for kids in the Cleveland area. Fisher has also worked as a commentator for Notre Dame football games on NBC Sports. His commitment to football and his community have made him a standout among his peers and he continues to inspire future generations of athletes.
