Tony Scheffler is a retired American football tight end who enjoyed a successful career in the NFL. Born on February 15, 1983, Scheffler hails from Chelsea, Michigan. He attended Western Michigan University where he played college football as a tight end. During his college football career, he recorded 124 receptions for 1,670 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. Scheffler began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, where he played for four seasons (2006-2009). He made an immediate impact in his rookie season recording 18 receptions for 286 yards and three touchdowns. Scheffler's best season came in 2008 when he recorded 40 receptions for 645 yards and three touchdowns, earning him recognition as one of the most promising young tight ends in the NFL. He was later traded to the Detroit Lions in 2010, where he played for three seasons (2010-2012). In his first season with the Lions, Scheffler recorded 45 receptions for 504 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

Throughout his professional football career, Tony Scheffler was a reliable tight end, capable of stretching defenses and making clutch plays when his team needed it. In his seven-year career in the NFL, Scheffler recorded 258 receptions for 3,207 yards and 22 touchdowns. He retired from the NFL in 2014 due to concussions but will always be remembered by fans as a hard-working, talented tight end who contributed significantly to the sport of American football.
