Tony Zendejas Autographs
Tony Zendejas was born on September 15, 1960, in Chihuahua, Mexico, and is a former American football placekicker. Zendejas grew up in California, where he developed his love for football. He attended Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga before transferring to the University of Nevada, Reno, where he played football for the Nevada Wolf Pack. During his college career, Zendejas established himself as one of the most accurate kickers in NCAA history, with a career field goal percentage of 73.1%.
After graduating from college, Zendejas signed with the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League. He played for the Express from 1983-1984 before making the jump to the National Football League (NFL). In his rookie season with the Houston Oilers in 1985, Zendejas led the league in field goal percentage, making 87.5% of his field goal attempts. He spent the next four years with the Oilers before being signed by the Atlanta Falcons in 1990, where he played for two seasons, followed by the San Francisco 49ers in 1992, where he finished his NFL career.
Throughout his professional career, Tony Zendejas established himself as one of the most reliable kickers in the league, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1987 and being named the NFL's Most Valuable Player for kickers in 1988. He retired with a career field goal percentage of 77.9% and is considered one of the best kickers of his era. Zendejas continued to be involved in football after his playing career, working as a kicking coach and analyst for various media outlets.
