Trev Alberts Autographs
Trev Alberts is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts from 1994 to 1996. Born on August 5, 1970, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Alberts attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. During his time with the Cornhuskers, Alberts helped his team win three consecutive Big Eight championships and the 1994 Orange Bowl.
In the 1994 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Alberts with the fifth overall pick. With the Colts, he played in 22 games over three seasons before being forced to retire from football due to an injury in 1997. Throughout his NFL career, Alberts accrued 51 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Despite his brief stint in professional football, Trev Alberts is remembered for his dominant collegiate career at Nebraska and his contributions to the school’s football program as a commentator and administrator.
Following his NFL retirement, Alberts went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law. In 2009, he became the Associate Athletic Director at his alma mater and was later promoted to Director of Athletics in 2021. In this role, he oversees the athletic department’s budget, hires coaches, and makes changes to the program as needed. Alberts is also an active philanthropist and a founding board member of “Teammates Mentoring Program,” an organization that pairs young students with a mentor to help them achieve academic and athletic success.
