Troy Edwards Autographs
Troy Edwards was born on May 29, 1977, in Ruston, Louisiana. He was a standout football player at Louisiana Tech University, where he set NCAA records in receiving yards and receptions per game. Edwards was a consensus All-American and won the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given each year to the best collegiate wide receiver in the country.
Edwards was drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1999 NFL Draft. Despite a slow start to his professional career, he had a breakout season in 2000, when he caught 61 passes for 714 yards and five touchdowns. His most memorable moment came on December 10, 2000, when he set a franchise record by catching 12 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown in a win against the Baltimore Ravens. Edwards' success that year led to him being named a Pro Bowl alternate.
After five seasons in the NFL, Edwards played in the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League before retiring in 2010. He was inducted into the Louisiana Tech University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 and remains one of the most decorated players in the school's history. Edwards' impact on the game of football is still felt today, as his records at Louisiana Tech continue to stand and his performance against the Ravens in 2000 is still talked about as one of the greatest individual games by a wide receiver in NFL history.
