Tuffy Leemans Autograph
Tuffy Leemans was an American football player born on November 12, 1912, in Superior, Wisconsin. He attended Superior Central High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. Leemans went on to attend the University of Oregon where he played college football. Leemans was drafted by the New York Giants in the second round of the 1936 NFL Draft. He played running back and defensive back for the Giants for seven seasons, from 1936 to 1943. During his professional football career, Leemans was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1939 and was a four-time All-Pro. He was an integral part of the Giants' 1938 championship team and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978.
After his football career ended, Leemans became a successful businessman and served as president of the Gold Seal Company, which manufactured aluminum foil and other household products. He passed away in 1979 at the age of 66. Leemans' contributions to American football and his accomplishments on the field will forever be remembered in the annals of NFL history.
