Tyler Sash Autographs
Tyler Sash was an American football player who was born on May 27, 1988, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He played football at Oskaloosa High School and went on to play college football for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. During his time at Iowa, he played safety and was known for his tough playing style and big hits. He started all 13 games during his junior season and was named All-Big Ten honorable mention.
In the 2011 NFL draft, Sash was selected in the sixth round by the New York Giants. He played safety and special teams for the team and was a key contributor on the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI championship team. In the playoffs that year, he had a key interception in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. However, Sash's NFL career was cut short due to a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. He was released by the Giants in 2013 and did not play in the NFL again.
Sadly, Sash passed away on September 8, 2015, at the age of 27. Sash had been battling chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) as a result of his football career. In his memory, the Tyler Sash Memorial Golf Tournament was created to support the Tyler Sash Foundation, which provides scholarships and resources for student-athletes in Iowa.
