Wesley Walker

Wesley Walker is a former American football player who spent his entire career with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) from 1977 to 1989. Walker was born in California in 1955 and attended Carson High School before moving on to the University of California, Berkeley. He played college football for the Cal Bears and was a standout player in his three years there. Walker was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 1977 NFL Draft. Walker had a successful career with the New York Jets, earning his place as one of the most talented wide receivers in the league. His speed and agility on the field helped him amass a staggering 8,306 yards and 71 touchdowns during his career. He was known for his ability to make acrobatic catches and was a threat on the deep pass, earning him the nickname "Deep Threat." In 1985, he was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named First-Team All-Pro after leading the league in yards per catch with an average of 24.4 yards.

Walker's career came to an end in 1989 after suffering numerous injuries, including a serious spinal injury, which resulted in his retirement. However, his legacy lives on, as he is still considered one of the greatest players in Jets history. The team inducted him into their Ring of Honor in 2012, joining other greats such as Joe Namath and Don Maynard.
