William Andrews Autographs
William Andrews, born on December 25, 1955, in Thomasville, Georgia, was a former American football running back. Andrews played football for the University of Auburn before being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons for the Falcons, and during his time with the team, he established himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Andrews' career statistics are impressive. In just 94 games with the Falcons, he ran for over 5,000 yards and scored 30 touchdowns. Andrews was an incredible athlete and was known for his punishing running style, which made him very difficult to tackle. He was often used in short-yardage situations and was a dependable receiver out of the backfield.
Unfortunately, Andrews' career was cut short by injuries. In 1983, he suffered a knee injury that many believed would end his career. However, he made a remarkable recovery and was able to play two more seasons. Andrews continued to struggle with injuries and retired from the NFL in 1986. Despite his short career, Andrews is still regarded as one of the best running backs in Falcons history, and in 2004, he was inducted into the Falcons' Ring of Honor.
