William The Fridge Perry Autographs
William "The Fridge" Perry was born on December 16, 1962, in Aiken, South Carolina. He was an incredibly talented football player and eventually went on to play for Clemson University from 1981 to 1984. During his time at Clemson, Perry was an imposing figure, standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing over 300 pounds.
In 1985, Perry was drafted by the Chicago Bears as the 22nd overall pick in the first round. He quickly became a fan favorite, known for his massive size and surprising speed on the field. Perry's most notable moment in the NFL came during Super Bowl XX, when he scored a touchdown on offense and earned the game's only sack against the New England Patriots. He was a critical part of the Bears' dominant defensive line and helped the team secure a 46-10 victory in the Super Bowl.
Perry played for the Bears until 1993, and then spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and one season with the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football before retiring in 1996. After his retirement from football, Perry struggled with health issues related to his weight, including undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 2008. Despite the challenges, he remains one of the most well-known and beloved players in NFL history, remembered not only for his remarkable physical abilities but also for his indomitable spirit.
