Winston Hill Autograph

Winston Hill was one of the greatest offensive tackles in American football history. He was born on October 23, 1941, in Joaquin, Texas. Hill attended Texas Southern University, where he played football as an offensive tackle. He was an All-American in his senior year and was later inducted into the TSU Hall of Fame. Hill was drafted in the 11th round of the 1963 NFL draft by the Baltimore Colts but was traded to the New York Jets the following year. He played for the Jets from 1964 to 1976 and was a part of the team that won Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts in 1969. Hill was a key part of the Jets' offense, and his outstanding blocking skills helped make it one of the most potent offenses in the league. He was known for his durability, starting in 174 consecutive games, a record at the time.

Hill was a four-time All-AFL selection and was named to the All-Time AFL team in 1970. He was also a four-time Pro Bowler and was named to the All-Pro team five times. Hill retired in 1977 after playing in 195 regular-season games and seven playoff games. He was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987 in recognition of his outstanding football career. Winston Hill passed away at the age of 74 in 2016.
