Mike Reid Autographs
Mike Reid was a former American football defensive tackle who played nine seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1970 to 1978. He was born on May 25, 1947 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and grew up playing football in his hometown. While attending Pennsylvania State University, he played for two seasons and was selected as a consensus All-American in 1969. Reid was widely considered one of the best college defensive players during that time.
After graduating from Penn State, Mike Reid was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 1970 NFL draft. He quickly established himself as one of the premier defensive tackles in the league, earning All-AFC honors three times during his playing career. Reid was known for his strength and toughness on the field, helping to anchor the Bengals’ defense in the 1970s. He played a total of 132 games for the Bengals and was a critical member of their Super Bowl run in 1981.
Despite his success on the field, Mike Reid retired from football after just nine seasons to pursue his true passion: music. He became a successful country music songwriter in Nashville, writing hits for artists such as Ronnie Milsap and Tim McGraw. Reid was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005, and his music has continued to be popular with audiences around the world. Although he left football at a relatively young age, Mike Reid left an indelible mark on the sport, cementing his legacy as a fierce and tenacious player on the field.
