Steve Jones Autographs
Steve Jones is a former American professional golfer who was born in 1958 in Westwood, California. He started playing golf at the age of 14 and by the time he had turned 18, Jones won the California State Junior Championship in 1976. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Colorado, where he played college golf for four years.
Jones turned pro in 1981 and played on the PGA Tour for over two decades, from 1982 to 2007. He had a successful career on the tour, winning eight titles, including the 1996 U.S. Open Championship, which is considered to be his greatest achievement. Jones was not a consistent performer, but his unwavering determination and focus helped him win against the odds at the U.S. Open. Jones was also known for his long drives and his unorthodox swing, which he developed due to a serious car accident he suffered in 1991. Injuries often plagued Jones throughout his career, but he remained passionate about the sport and continued playing golf even after retiring from professional golf in 2007.
After retiring from professional golf, Jones transitioned to coaching and started the Steve Jones Golf Academy, where he mentored aspiring golfers. Jones believes in the importance of having a consistent swing and focusing on the mental aspects of the game. He also continued to play in various golf tournaments and was inducted into the University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Jones's legacy in the world of golf will be remembered for his U.S Open victory and his perseverance despite adversity.
