Hiram Bingham Autograph
Hiram Bingham was an American archaeologist, historian, explorer, and senator who is best known for his discovery of Machu Picchu. He was born on November 19, 1875, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a family of Christian missionaries. Bingham grew up in various places around the world due to his family's missionary work. Bingham's historical career began in 1906 when he was appointed as an instructor of Latin American history at Yale University.
