Aaron Ward is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. Born on January 17, 1973, in Windsor, Ontario, Ward began playing hockey in his hometown as a youth. He started his career with his university team, the University of Michigan, where he helped the Wolverines win the NCAA championship in 1996. After his third year, he signed with the Winnipeg Jets, a professional team at the time. As a member of the Red Wings, Aaron Ward won two Stanley Cup championships in 1998 and 2002. Throughout his career, he also played for Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, and New York Rangers. He represented Canada in international competition and won a gold medal at the 1994 World Junior Championships. Ward's defensive skills and leadership qualities made him a valuable asset to every team he played for.
