Ab McDonald Autographs
Ab McDonald was a Canadian ice-hockey forward who played for a number of teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) as well as the World Hockey Association (WHA) during the 1950s and 1960s. McDonald began his career with the Montreal Canadiens in 1957 and went on to play for other teams such as Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, the WHA's Winnipeg Jets, and Calgary Cowboys. His career spanned over 15 seasons, during which he became known for his scoring ability, physical play, and leadership qualities.
McDonald was a four-time Stanley Cup winner, having won the trophy twice with the Montreal Canadiens in 1958 and 1959 and again with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1961 and 1962. He was also named to the NHL All-Star team in 1960, an honour he cherished alongside his Stanley Cup victories. McDonald retired from professional hockey in 1972 and was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. Throughout his NHL career, he scored 182 goals and 248 assists for a total of 430 points in 762 games played.
Beyond his achievements on the ice, McDonald was also a respected and beloved teammate and captain, known for his uplifting personality and sportsmanship. He frequently mentored younger players and was a positive influence on those around him. Later in life, McDonald became involved in coaching youth hockey and was known for his tireless commitment to the sport.
