Al Secord Autographs
Al Secord is a former Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for more than a decade. He was born on July 2, 1958, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Secord began his hockey career as a junior with the Sudbury Wolves and later moved on to play for the Niagara Falls Flyers. In 1978, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL entry draft.
Secord began his NHL career with the Bruins, playing three seasons with the team before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1982. He quickly became a fan favorite in Chicago and became known for his toughness and physical play, as well as his scoring ability. In the 1982-83 season, he scored 54 goals and racked up 111 points, making him one of the most feared and respected players in the league.
Over his 11-year NHL career, Secord scored 273 goals, had 261 assists, and racked up 2,490 penalty minutes in 744 games. He played for the Bruins, Blackhawks, and the Toronto Maple Leafs before retiring in 1989. After retiring, Secord went on to coach various youth hockey teams and worked as a scout for the Blackhawks. He was inducted into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 and remains a beloved figure in Chicago Blackhawks history.
