Alec Martinez Autographs
Alec Martinez was born on July 26, 1987, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He grew up playing hockey and was talented enough to earn a scholarship to Miami University in Ohio. In his freshman year, Martinez helped lead the team to the NCAA Frozen Four Championship, where they lost in the semifinals. Martinez played a total of three years at Miami University and finished his college career with 29 goals and 55 assists.
Martinez was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the first few years of his hockey career bouncing back and forth between the Kings and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. In the 2012 playoffs, Martinez scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime of Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, helping the Kings capture their first championship in franchise history. He would go on to win another cup with the Kings in 2014.
Following an 11-year stint with the Kings, Martinez was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in February 2020. In his debut game, he scored the winning goal in overtime against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Martinez continued to contribute to the team's success and was instrumental in their playoff run, which saw the Golden Knights reach the Western Conference Finals. To date, Martinez has recorded 65 goals and 136 assists in his NHL career.
