Alexander Wennberg Autographs
Alexander Wennberg is a Swedish professional hockey player currently playing for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on September 22, 1994, in Nacka, Sweden. Growing up, he played junior hockey for Nacka HK before joining Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) in 2012. He played two seasons with Djurgårdens before being drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round, 14th overall, in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Wennberg made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets during the 2014-15 season, playing in 68 games and recording 20 points as a rookie. The following season, he increased his production to 32 points in 69 games and helped the Blue Jackets make the playoffs for the first time in four years. In 2016-17, he had a career-high 59 points and was a key player for the Blue Jackets as they set franchise records for wins and points in a season. He continued to be a productive player for Columbus over the next few seasons before being traded to the Florida Panthers in October 2020.
With the Panthers, Wennberg has found a new home and has continued to be a productive player. In the shortened 2020-21 season, he recorded 17 points in 56 games and helped the Panthers secure a spot in the playoffs. He also played a key role in the Panthers' playoff run, contributing seven points in 10 games before the team was eliminated. Wennberg is known for his playmaking abilities, strong defensive play, and his ability to win faceoffs. He has established himself as a reliable two-way center in the NHL and will look to continue his success in the years to come.
