Allan Bester Autographs
Allan Bester, born on May 28, 1964, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. Bester started his junior career playing for the Hamilton Fincups in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After three seasons in the OHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs drafted him in the third round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He spent most of his career with the Maple Leafs, playing from 1983 until 1991.
Bester had a promising start in his NHL career, with an impressive record of 30-23-7 and a save percentage of .892 in his rookie season. However, injuries and inconsistent performances slowed down his career. He had a few notable moments in his career, including shutting out the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-0 victory in 1989, a game that became one of the highlights of his career. Bester played his final NHL season with the Detroit Red Wings in 1992-93, bringing an end to his 10-year professional career, during which he played in 302 games for Toronto, Detroit, and the International Hockey League's San Diego Gulls.
Bester currently resides in Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he is the co-owner of a hockey school, which provides coaching to young players. In addition to coaching, he is also an active participant in charity work and fundraising events. Bester's contributions to the sport of hockey are noteworthy, and he will always be remembered as a well-respected goaltender in the league.
