Alyn McCauley Autographs
Alyn McCauley is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was born on May 29, 1977, in Gananoque, Ontario. McCauley played for different teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1997 to 2007. He began his professional career in 1997 with the Los Angeles Kings after being drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the Kings until 2000 when he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. McCauley played for the Maple Leafs from 2000 to 2003, where he helped the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002. Following his stint with the Maple Leafs, he served as the captain of the San Jose Sharks from 2003 to 2006.
During his career, Alyn McCauley was known for his excellent two-way play, making him a valuable player for the teams he played for. He was recognized for his efforts and won the Bill Masterton Trophy in 2004 awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. Throughout his career, he played in 488 regular-season games and registered 90 goals and 152 assists for a total of 242 points. After a series of injuries, including multiple concussions, McCauley announced his retirement from the NHL in 2007, ending his ten-year career.
Following his retirement, Alyn McCauley transitioned into coaching, joining his former team, the San Jose Sharks, as an assistant coach for their minor league team, the Worcester Sharks, in 2009. He later became the head coach of the Ontario Reign in the ECHL, leading them to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2010. Currently, he serves as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Kings, the team he began his professional career with in 1997.
