Andrej Sekera Autographs
Andrej Sekera is a Slovak professional ice hockey defenseman, born on June 8, 1986, in Bojnice, Czechoslovakia. He is currently a free agent, having played for various teams in the National Hockey League (NHL). Sekera initially started playing hockey in his hometown with the local club, HK Prievidza, before moving to play with the HC Dukla Trenčín juniors.
In 2004, Sekera formally began his professional career, joining HC Dukla Trenčín of the Slovak Extraliga. He spent three seasons with the team and quickly gained recognition for his talent on the ice, earning him the opportunity to play in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Rochester Americans. Sekera's success in the AHL led to him being signed by the Buffalo Sabres in 2006. He then played six seasons with the Sabres, showcasing his offensive skills as a defenseman, amassing 121 points in 339 games before joining the Carolina Hurricanes in 2013.
In addition to his successful NHL career, Sekera also represented Slovakia in international competitions, including the World Cup, the World Championship, and the Winter Olympics. With his excellent puck-handling abilities, Sekera is a force to be reckoned with on the ice, making him a valuable addition to any team he plays for. Though he has faced some injuries in recent years, the 35-year-old still has much to offer to the NHL and the sport of ice hockey as a whole.
