Andrew Raycroft was born on May 4, 1980, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Growing up in Belleville, Raycroft fell in love with playing hockey at a young age. He started playing in local leagues and eventually earned himself a spot on the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. Over the course of his career, Raycroft would go on to play with four other NHL teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, and Dallas Stars. While he never quite matched the success of his rookie season, Raycroft remained a solid and reliable goaltender throughout his career. Canadiens legend Patrick Roy even praised Raycroft as one of his favorite goaltenders to watch, citing his work ethic and determination on the ice.
