Bill Hajt Autographs
Bill Hajt is a former professional ice hockey player and coach born on April 4, 1948, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He began his professional career in 1969 when he was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Sabres, where he spent most of his playing career. Hajt was a powerful defender and played a significant role in the team's success during the 1970s, including their first-ever playoff appearance in the 1972-73 season. In his 10 seasons with the Sabres, he played 854 games, scoring 38 goals and 149 assists. Hajt retired in 1983, after playing a season with the Los Angeles Kings.
After his playing career, Hajt continued his involvement in hockey as a coach. He went on to become an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres and played a significant role in the team's success during the 1990s, including their appearance in the 1999 Stanley Cup Final. Hajt also served as the head coach for several minor league teams, including the Rochester Americans, the Elmira Jackals, and the Gwinnett Gladiators.
In 2015, Hajt was inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame, recognizing his contributions both as a player and coach. He is also a member of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, in recognition of his outstanding achievements on the ice. Today, Hajt continues to make significant contributions to the game of hockey as the assistant coach for the Anaheim Ducks. Hajt's dedication to the sport and his achievements as both a player and coach continue to inspire hockey enthusiasts around the world.
