Bob Probert was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was born on June 5, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and passed away on July 5, 2010, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Bob was a left-winger, known for being one of the toughest enforcers to ever grace the NHL stage. He played in the NHL for over 16 seasons and was a member of both the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.
Probert's hockey career was one of the most intense and physically demanding, especially when it came to his enforcer role. He played from 1985 till 2002, during which he played nearly 935 games for the NHL, and scored 163 career goals, in addition to racking up 3,300 penalty minutes. Throughout his NHL career, Probert's skill set had always been to fight; his reputation in the league was based on his undisputed skills as one of the toughest fighters the NHL has ever seen.
Probert played 10 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, with his most successful season being 1987-88, where he scored 29 goals and assisted on 33 for a total of 62 points. During his tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks, Probert was one of the team's key players, and his physical presence and determination on the ice were vital. In 1988, he settled 67 penalties which stood as a Blackhawks record till this day, which made him the most iconic player in the team's history. His career in hockey gave us a glimpse of one of the toughest players to ever grace the ice, making Bob Probert timeless and giving him a legacy that will continue to be remembered long after his passing.
