Bob Sauve Autographs

Bob Sauve is a retired Canadian ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Blackhawks. Born on November 19, 1955, in Ottawa, Ontario, Sauve began his professional hockey career in 1975 when he was signed by the Buffalo Sabres. He made his debut in the 1976-77 season and quickly became one of the team's top goaltenders. Sauve played with the Sabres for eight seasons and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 1979.
Sauve was an integral part of the Buffalo Sabres during his time with the team, and he was known for his exceptional goaltending skills. He was a three-time All-Star in the NHL, in 1981, 1982, and 1983. Sauve was also named the NHL's first-star of the week in January 1982, after leading the Sabres to three consecutive victories. In 1983, he set a career-high with 31 wins and was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded to the league's best goaltender.
In 1986, Sauve was traded to the Detroit Red Wings, where he played for one season before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. He retired from professional hockey in 1989, with a career record of 158 wins, 147 losses, and 44 ties. Sauve was inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2016 he was inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame. Today, Sauve serves as a goaltending coach for the Gatineau Olympiques in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
