Brady Skjei Autographs
Brady Skjei is a professional ice hockey defenseman who was born on March 26, 1994, in Lakeville, Minnesota. Skjei played youth hockey with the Lakeville South Cougars before briefly playing with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the United States Hockey League during the 2010-11 season. Brady Skjei went on to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota from 2012 to 2016. During his time as a Golden Gopher, Skjei was able to capture the Big Ten Championship twice while also earning a First Team All-Star nomination.
Brady Skjei was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round, 28th overall during the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After his college career, Skjei joined the Rangers full-time for the 2016-17 season. Skjei has been a regular on the Rangers' defensive corps since he joined the team, playing in 307 games over five seasons. Skjei has had some offensive success as an NHL player, compiling 29 goals and 101 points in his career, but his main strengths lie in his shutdown ability and his skating.
Brady Skjei's career took an unexpected turn during the 2019-20 season when he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. The trade was a bit of a surprise to many of Skjei's fans, but Skjei adapted well to his new surroundings, playing in seven games for the Hurricane's during the remainder of the season. Skjei is now viewed as a key piece to the Hurricanes' defensive unit heading into the 2021 NHL season.
