Brandon Hagel is a professional ice hockey player from Canada. Born on August 27, 1998, in Morinville, Alberta, Hagel developed a love for hockey at a young age. He started playing organized hockey when he was just three years old, and his passion for the game only grew stronger from there. His excellent skills on the ice, combined with his work ethic and determination, have led him to become one of the most exciting young players in the sport.
Hagel's hockey career began with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He played with the team for four seasons, from 2014-2018, and quickly established himself as a key player. In his final season with the Rebels, he scored 10 goals and 21 assists in 11 games, leading the team to the WHL championship. In the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Hagel was selected in the sixth round by the Buffalo Sabres. Although he did not sign with the team, his impressive play in the WHL caught the attention of the NHL scouts.
After his time with the Rebels, Hagel joined the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL). In 2019, he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, and he made his debut with the team in January 2020. He has since become a regular member of the Blackhawks' lineup, known for his speed, skill, and tenacity on the ice. Hagel's success in the AHL and NHL is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and his career is sure to continue to thrive in the coming years.
