Brian Pothier Autograph

Brian Pothier is a retired American professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for a period of seven seasons from 2000 to 2010. He was born on April 15, 1977, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and began playing ice hockey at an early age. Pothier played college hockey for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he was the co-captain of the team during his senior year. Pothier made his NHL debut in the 2000-2001 season with the Atlanta Thrashers. He then played for the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, and Carolina Hurricanes over the course of his career. He was known for his offensive abilities, particularly his passing and shot-blocking skills. In his 419 NHL games, Pothier recorded 134 points (38 goals, 96 assists) and had a plus/minus rating of +47. He also played in 47 playoff games, recording ten points (three goals, seven assists).

Pothier was forced to retire from professional hockey in 2010 due to post-concussion syndrome. After his retirement, he began working for the NHL Players' Association in the Player Safety Department. In addition to his work with the NHLPA, Pothier has also been involved with several charitable organizations, including the Canine Companions for Independence and the One Summit organization, which helps children battling cancer.
