Brian Skrudland Autographs

Brian Skrudland was born on July 31, 1963, in Peace River, Alberta. Skrudland had a fantastic hockey career that lasted over a decade. Skrudland began his major junior hockey career with the WHL Lethbridge Broncos from 1980 to 1984 before being selected in the NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1984 NHL Supplemental Draft, by the Calgary Flames in 1983 and the Philadelphia Flyers in 1984.
Skrudland made his debut in 1985 for the Montreal Canadiens, and in his rookie season, he became the first rookie captain to win the Stanley Cup. Skrudland continued playing with the Canadiens for another six seasons, culminating in his 1989 All-Star accolade. Skrudland had a reputation as a scrappy player who wasn't afraid to mix it up with bigger or more experienced players. His physicality and tenacity led to him being considered one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL at the time.
Skrudland went on to play with the Calgary Flames from 1993-94 to 1995-96, helping the team make it to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1994. In 1996, Skrudland signed with the expansion team, the Florida Panthers. In his first season in Florida, he became the team's captain and helped lead them to the Stanley Cup Finals's first time ever, where they lost to the Colorado Avalanche. He played for the Panthers until 1999 and then joined the New York Rangers until his retirement in 2000. After his retirement, Skrudland moved into coaching, becoming an assistant coach for the Panthers from 2002-2009 and then joining the Dallas Stars organization in various roles.
