Brit Selby Autographs
Brit Selby was born on July 4th, 1945 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Selby had a successful hockey career playing in both the NHL and the WHA. He started his career playing in the Ontario Hockey Association with the St. Michael's Majors. Selby was then drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1964 NHL Amateur Draft. He played for the Leafs for three seasons, putting up solid numbers including 29 goals and 26 assists in the 1965-66 season.
In 1967, Selby was a part of the legendary Maple Leafs team that won the Stanley Cup. He played on a line alongside future Hall of Famers Dave Keon and George Armstrong. The trio was known for their speed and tenacity on the ice, and Selby contributed to the team's success with a goal in the Cup-winning game against the Montreal Canadiens. Selby's career with the Leafs came to an end in 1970, as he was claimed by the Vancouver Canucks in the expansion draft.
Selby finished his career playing in the WHA with the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Toros. He played in the WHA until 1977, finishing with 114 goals and 147 assists in 322 games played. Selby was known for his gritty play and ability to find the back of the net, making him a valuable player for every team he played for. While he may not have been a household name, Brit Selby's contributions to the game of hockey should not be overlooked.
