Butch Goring Autographs
Butch Goring was born on October 22, 1949, in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He started playing hockey at a young age and was a skilled forward. In 1969, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings and he joined the team in the 1969-70 season. Goring quickly established himself as a valuable player for the Kings, scoring 18 goals and 36 points in his rookie season.
He played for the Kings for ten seasons, becoming the team's captain in 1975. During his time with the Kings, Goring was named an NHL All-Star twice and was known as a tenacious player who could play in any situation. In 1980, Goring was traded to the New York Islanders, where he helped the team win four consecutive Stanley Cups from 1980 to 1983.
After retiring from playing, Goring worked as a broadcaster and coach. He was the head coach of the Islanders from 1999 to 2001 and was an assistant coach for the Boston Bruins from 2007 to 2010. Goring was inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Islanders Hall of Fame in 2018. He is also known for his signature helmet, which he wore throughout his career to protect his head from injuries. Butch Goring remains a beloved figure in the hockey world and is regarded as one of the sport's greatest players of all time.
